(ארויס געשיקט דורך איחוד גייטסהעד עולמי - חנוכה תשע"ח)
To all our dedicated Alumni and supporters.
As we celebrate חנוכה , it is with great pleasure that we write to you with news & updates from our Yeshiva. This follows on from our newsletter of Ellul (copy available by email request).
B’H the Yeshiva is full and we have over 360 talmidim learning during this winter z’man. Ellul was even fuller with the addition of many alumni who came to be with us for the Yomim Noiroim.
It is a pleasure to see all the menoros alight throughout the campus, as well as the sound of learning that can be heard throughout the day and well into the early hours.
On the second day of Chanuka the Yeshiva had one of it’s regular inspections, which was carried out on behalf of the Home Office. The Inspector expressed satisfaction with their visit.
The Yeshiva is currently learning מסכת יבמות as per the regular cycle, with many additional chaburos being given by all the Rabbonei Hayeshiva.
The Yeshiva, with the assistance of the Alumni succeeded to have a new ceiling and led lighting installed in the whole Beis Hamedrash. This project has significantly improved the ambiance and acoustics.
We are particularly grateful to our alumni Mr Chesky Reichmann who dedicated the new Oron Hakodesh and appurtenances, which, from conception was delivered, constructed and installed in just 7 weeks just in time of our memorable Shabbos Hisachdus and Hachnosas Sefer Torah event last Adar
Given the continued expansion of the Yeshiva, it is intended to embark on a major new building project to ensure that all talmidim are housed in the Yeshiva complex at a cost of circa £2 Million – once again many dedication opportunities are available and donors welcome.
The Yeshiva is grateful for the help given by our Alumni and are happy to introduce our new London-based administrator Asher Stefansky who assumed responsibilities in October 2018 to help with various marketing campaigns. Additionally, he has given substantial input to the attached newsletter, which we are producing to record the amazing reunion event earlier in the year in Gateshead. Asher has also been tasked to work on upgrading the alumni web-site. The web address is
www.gyalumni.org . Asher can be reached on +447530304587
Please take note that a full list of opportunities, sponsorships and dedications will be available on the upgraded website.
We hope to be in regular contact with more news of what is happening in the Yeshiva and to advise on future events that the Alumni are planning, in order to strengthen the bond with our Talmidim which will help to provide much needed assistance for our Yeshiva.
Best wishes
The Committee
